Sports Cake

This is for a little boy who loves sports! He is the son of a good friend of mine who I have been friends with since 1st grade, (a long time ago). I was very honored to be able to make his 4th birthday cake.
Andrew has great taste! He wanted a chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling, ....yummy! All the decorations were made from fondant and were all edible except the stick holding up the flag.
"Happy Birthday Andrew! Hope your cake made you smile!"

Graduation

This is eagle cake #2 for me. I was asked to make another one for the Kindergarten Graduation Reception. I was happy to do so. My little Gavin, was graduating that night. We are very proud of our extremely smart, soon to be , 6 yr old. I cannot believe how fast time goes by.

My very sweet and handsome little man!! He is also quite a good mathematician and a very skillful little builder. Yes, I am bragging!!

This time, I decided to do the eagle a little differently. I made it completely out of buttercream icing. I wanted to put LBA in red on the cake, but only had a little bit of red coloring left, which of course, made pink icing. So we had to make do with just an eagle this time. This was one layer of chocolate chip cake.

Lego Cake

This is for an adorable little boy who just turned 8 years old. It was an 8in. 2 layer, vanilla cake, with cookies and cream filling. The 3-D legos and the letters are made out of modeling chocolate. The flat legos on the side are fondant. The entire cake is iced in vanilla buttercream icing.

I really hope Colbey enjoyed it and had a GREAT birthday party!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Mother's Day! I spent my day with my beautiful Mom and children and lots of other precious family. It's been a great day! I pray many blessings today on all Moms and on those who desire to be a Mom. Hope your day was filled with lots of smiles and laughter and dreams of the great times yet to come. (Psalm 113:9)

These are our butterfly cupcakes. The butterflies are made from melted chocolate. They were yummy! The idea came from a great cupcake book I have. I love cupcakes! I think they are perfect for kids. The "sweet memory" I have about these cupcakes, is my cousin, picking up one of the containers of cupcakes and accidentally dropping all of them on the floor. Well,...maybe that's a "not-so-sweet memory". After all that time in the kitchen making those butterflies, then sitting there seeing them broken into pieces all over the floor,.... well, you just have to laugh really. So hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

Wanted to make green ones too, but I ran out of steam. Too bad because they would have looked really great smashed on the floor with the other ones.

School Cake

I made this cake for my boys' school. It was an extremely large and very heavy cake. The right half of the cake is chocolate and the left half is vanilla. The entire cake is filled with cookies and cream filling and covered with vanilla buttercream. The eagle and letters I made from modeling chocolate. It would have looked better if I had used fondant but I thought the kids would prefer eating the chocolate.
